About Allyson

Allyson Lynch, Soprano, is a vocal and teaching artist based out of the South Shore of Massachusetts. Having graduated with her Masters of Music from the University of Louisville (UofL) in May 2020, she spent two years living and performing in the Bluegrass State. As the UofL Apprentice Artist with Kentucky Opera, Allyson performed in the company’s 2019-2020 season covering the roles of Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro and Micaëla in Carmen. Allyson made her international debut at the Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica in San Jose in 2019 as a soloist singing Vivaldi Gloria and Bach Magnificat with the UofL Sinfonietta and the Choral Institute of Costa Rica.  While at UofL Allyson studied with soprano Emily Albrink Katz and performed the role of Dido in Dido and Aeneas and was set to perform Aurelia Havisham in Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night with UofL Opera Theater. She graduated from UofL as a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda musical honors society.

Equally at home in opera and musical theater, Allyson has performed the roles of Madame de la Grande Bouche in Beauty and the Beast with New Bedford Festival Theater, Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd and Aquata in The Little Mermaid with Company Theatre, Maria in Man of La Mancha with Americana Theatre Co., and Lottie in Show Boat with Fiddlehead Theatre.

In addition to performing, Allyson is also a passionate vocal pedagogue, and runs a private voice studio in historic downtown Plymouth. Currently she is also on the voice faculty of Spotlight Music and Theater Academy and collaborates as a vocal coach with Silver Lake Regional High School’s music and drama program. Previous teaching appointments include UofL Graduate Teaching Assistant and voice and drama faculty member at South Shore Conservatory (2015-2018). Allyson believes strongly in vocal cross-training. Developing healthy technique through a wide range of individualized repertoire and encouraging expression and emotional connection through singing are her main goals when working with students of all ages. Allyson is currently living on the South Shore of Massachusetts with her husband David and their dog Minnie.

“Singing is like a weightlessness. It’s pure joy. It’s the place I go where absolutely anything is possible.”
